My love of storytelling began at an early age. I spent hours reading fairy tales while nestled in a corner of the Carnegie Library in my hometown of Ironwood, Michigan. It was during this period of my life that I discovered the power a parable had in helping make sense of the world around me. Creativity knows no age. We all have a story to tell. Embrace yours!
Wendy J. Menara lives in the Sacramento Valley and is the author of Silence of Shame: A Child Caring for Her Bedridden Mother. Her debut memoir has been named one of the Best Books of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews.
She is the second youngest of ten children, grew up in Ironwood, Michigan and moved to California when she was seventeen.
Following her work with Paramount Pictures as a freelance feature film production accountant, Wendy worked with Tri-Star, Warner Brothers, CBS television, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), and in Lucasfilm’s publishing department before pursuing her passion for writing and directing.
